What to Wear for a Photoshoot in Venice
Colours, fabrics and shoes that look best with Venetian light, and when to choose an artistic dress instead.
Venice is a city of stone, water and soft pastel walls. The right outfit dialogues with them instead of fighting them.
Choose movement
Fabrics that move, such as chiffon, linen, silk and long skirts, make beautiful photographs, especially with a little wind.
Colours that work
Earthy and muted tones (ivory, sand, dusty rose, deep green, burgundy, black) look painterly in natural light. Very bright neon colours and busy patterns tend to distract.
Keep it simple
Plain, well-fitting clothes make you the focus. Avoid large logos and bring one accessory that tells your story: a hat, a scarf, jewellery, a book.
Shoes
Pick comfortable shoes for walking. Many photographs do not show your feet, so comfort wins.
