Flying Dress Photoshoot in Venice: How It Works and How to Get the Best Photos
What a flying dress photoshoot in Venice is, what to expect, the best light and weather, and how to choose between Princess, Queen and Goddess.

A flying dress photoshoot is a portrait in which a very long, light gown rises in the air and becomes part of the scene. In Venice it takes on a special poetry: silk against old stone, bridges and water.
How it works
We meet in Venice and choose a quiet area. You wear the dress and I guide you step by step: where to stand, how to move, when the fabric should rise. No experience is needed.
Princess, Queen or Goddess
They are three moods. Princess is soft and romantic, Queen is elegant and bold, Goddess is dramatic and powerful. Details are on the flying dress photoshoot page.
Wind and light
A little wind helps a lot; strong rain does not. I shoot in natural light, usually in the early morning or near sunset, when the colour of the fabric looks richest.
Prepare
Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to change from, and think about makeup and hair. Read how to prepare for a photoshoot in Venice.
The finishing touch
After the session I finish the photographs with artistic colour and texture, so the scene looks like a painting more than a snapshot.
